ID Teaching MOUs

Collaborative teaching, and teaching courses across collegiate lines, is often complicated by issues related to the allocation of teaching credit; expectations about faculty workload and salary; course enrollment requirements; and course-related costs (e.g., TA salary, materials, copyright, space, etc.). A formal memorandum of understanding (MOU) can help ensure that faculty, departments, and colleges have considered and approve the terms under which a faculty member will teach a course in another unit. The following templates represent two examples of interdisciplinary (ID) teaching MOUs currently in use at the University of Minnesota. Colleges, schools and departments are invited to email with additional examples for posting on this site.
