The mission of American Indian Housing Community Development Corporation is to provide culturally unique housing, support services, and entrepreneurial programs that strengthen American Indian Communities. The organization provides advocacy services, housing services, home construction and rehabilitation programs, a self-sufficiency program, and a detoxification program for chronic alcoholics. Clients are primarily low-income and/or homeless.

American Indians in Unity works together with several American Indian organizations in St. Paul to promote education and understanding of American Indian culture, enhance the image of American Indian people, and develop and facilitate a communications network among American Indian service organizations. The organization also supports the American Indian Home Ownership Program, a first-time homebuyer program for low- to moderate-income families, and the American Indian Emergency Housing Assistance Fund, which helps families stabilize their housing situation.

Anishinabe Wakiagun, a culturally specific program targeting American Indian men and women, is a board and lodging facility for late-stage chronic inebriates. The facility provides housing for 40 individuals. It is not a shelter; it is a permanent housing facility that encourages long-term residency to maximize stability in the individual's life.

Simpson Housing Services (SHS) provides shelter and affordable housing with support services to homeless men, women, and children; and assists individuals and families in their efforts to improve their life situations and to advocate for their human and civil rights. SHS provides advocacy services to parents, as well as advocacy for children regarding academic stability and improvement. Interested families can call each Tuesday between noon and 2:00 p.m. to inquire about openings in the program.
