The Chicano Latino Affairs Council (CLAC) advises the governor and the Minnesota state legislature on issues of importance to Minnesota's Chicano Latino community. El Colegio is a public charter high school that serves students grades 9-12. Major areas of focus include the arts, the environment, and technology, with a continual focus on Spanish/English bilingualism. Students achieve knowledge in all subjects through project-based learning, and work with advisers to develop their own curriculum consistent with Minnesota Graduation Standards. Although the majority of students are Latino, the school aims to serve students from all cultures. One of the goals of the school is to increase the graduation rate of students of color and increase the number of students of color who go on to attend college.

The mission of the Midwest Migrant Education Resource Center (MMERC) is to assist upper Midwest partner states in meeting the educational needs of migrant children. MMERC provides educational materials and to teachers of the migrant students in school districts and state migrant departments in Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. These include free access to over 14,000 education materials, games, and manipulatives for hands-on learning; thematic multimedia unit boxes; teacher and parent references; and English-as-a-second-language materials. MMERC also conducts state teacher workshops, in-service training, and site visits to meet specific district needs or topics.
