Call for Applications: Graduate Research Internship for Summer 2015
As part of the University's effort to broaden career options and research experiences for graduate students, the Graduate School is launching a pilot program to support summer research-based internship opportunities in 2015. The purpose of the pilot is to expand the network of partners in industry, non-profit, and government sectors offering internships, and to encourage students who might not otherwise consider an internship to explore this possibility. Successful applicants will be awarded a summer stipend of up to $4,000 from the Graduate School, and provided health insurance coverage (if not already covered by the University) for summer 2015. Up to 25 internship awards will be made. Application deadline is Wednesday, May 6, 2015. View the call for applications >
OLLI Scholar Program Offers Paid Teaching Opportunity for Ph.D. Candidates
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Minnesota is now accepting applications for the OLLI Scholar program, which provides an opportunity for Ph.D. and professional school students to design and deliver a full course to OLLI members during one of three sessions in 2015-2016. Approved OLLI Scholars will receive a $1,000 stipend to prepare and present one course and must obtain the endorsement of his/her advisor. OLLI Scholars must be students enrolled in a program during the term in which their course is delivered. More information >

A New, Non-Degree Course for Currently Enrolled International Scholars’ and Students’ Spouses or Partners
"Global Wisdom: Cross-Cultural Perspectives from Around the World" provides cross-cultural learning and networking opportunities for individuals from abroad who have accompanied their partners or spouses to the University of Minnesota. Coming from all over the globe, international participants share cross-cultural experiences and knowledge in accessing resources, developing strengths, and adjusting to the University of Minnesota community. Offered on Mondays, March 30 – May 11, 2015 (two sessions remaining: 5/4, 5/11) from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the McNamara Alumni Center. Attend any or all sessions. Free, but registration is required.
