Distinguished Master's Thesis Award
The University of Minnesota Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award for 2013 has been awarded to Carmen Alonso, a veterinary medicine student, for her thesis Epidemiological and Economic Implications of Air Filtration Systems to Prevent Porcine Reproductive Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) in Large Sow Herds. She received her M.S. degree in September 2012 under the direction of Professor Peter Davies. In addition to receiving a $500 honorarium from the Graduate School, Alonso will compete for the Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award of the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS).
