Portal Email - for admitted students only

Dear Goldy,

Congratulations again on your admission to the University of Minnesota!

As a newly admitted student you have access to the MyU Portal, an online resource intended to help you learn more about the academic, personal, and professional opportunities available at the U of M and in our community.  MyU will also have information for you as you enroll on our campus (e.g. course registration, new student orientations, holds, etc.).

To get started, visit https://idp2.shib.umn.edu/idp/umn/getaccount.jsp and follow the instructions to initiate your student account. You will be asked to provide your seven-digit student ID number (you can find this at the top of your admission letter), your date of birth, and your social security number.  International students without a social security number may leave that field blank.

Along with MyU access, initiating your student account will create your campus email, the University’s official means of communicating with you. Each time you wish to use your account, simply go to the U of M's homepage at http://www.umn.edu and click on "MyU".

Finally, please note that if you already have a U of M account, you should not open a new one. If you have any difficulties initiating your account, please call 1-HELP at (612) 301-4357 or send an email to help@umn.edu.

We hope you find MyU helpful and we look forward to having you join our community!
