ISSS is dedicated to serving the U's international community. Its primary mission is to assist international students and scholars in successfully accomplishing the goals that brought them to the University, by using all available resources.
The Minnesota English Language Program (MELP) offers English as a Second Language courses for admitted students who want to improve their English language skills as well as an Intensive English Program for students preparing to apply for admission to a university or college or are preparing to take an English proficiency exam.
This program offers courses and individual consultations to international graduate students who seek professional development in their teaching and use of English in the U.S. cultural context.
MISA is an organization of over 4000 US and international students that represents the interests of international students and promotes cultural awareness and understanding on the University campus and surrounding community.

The GPS Alliance is the central, coordinating international office for the University of Minnesota system. It focuses on international services to faculty on all campuses, academic exchanges with institutions around the world, and funding information for graduate study and research abroad.
