myU Admitted Graduate Student Portal

The graduate admissions MyU Portal view, which was launched in 2007, is designed specifically for admitted graduate students and is made available immediately upon decision notification through the AY admissions system. The purpose of the view is to enhance student recruitment and service by providing tools and information needed to, first, choose the University of Minnesota and, later, assist with transition to the University and surrounding area. Each Graduate School program has direct control over a cell in the portal that is dedicated specifically for students in that program. Through the use of affinity strings, which are based on PeopleSoft records, the portal displays personalized content that allows an admitted student to learn about his or her specific graduate program. In addition, the portal contains information about on- and off-campus housing, the Twin Cities area, student finance, student services, health and fitness information, library resources, multicultural programs and opportunities, how to activate the U Card , etc.

Log-in records show that admitted students are visiting the portal to access information about their program and the wide variety of other resources available.

When students eventually enroll, the admitted-student view automatically converts to an enrolled-student view managed by the GSSP office, which is the reason for the sharp drop in September log-in numbers in the chart below.
