Statement #2

 

The Graduate School shares the University of Minnesota's commitment to promoting and supporting diversity among the student body as central to its academic mission. In graduate study, peer learning is as important as formal classroom instruction. Please provide a statement regarding what you define as your own distinctive qualities, characteristics, and life experiences you potentially will contribute to your graduate program, the education of your fellow students and graduate education at the University of Minnesota. (please do not exceed one page in length unless your program has provided separate instructions)



Statement #3


Self motivation is critical to success in graduate school. Please provide examples from your life history that demonstrate your motivation or drive to succeed at past goals you have set. These could include examples of intellectual accomplishments, your work ethic, and/or overcoming life obstacles. (please do not exceed one page in length unless your program has provided separate instructions)

Statement #2

 

Enrolling and graduating a diverse student body is central to the University of Minnesota's mission. Please write a statement that identifies the distinctive qualities, characteristics, and life experiences you would contribute to your graduate program and to the education of fellow students at the University of Minnesota.  You may wish to include examples that address your contribution to the diversity of the student body and illustrate your motivation to succeed by setting high standards for accomplishing intellectual and other goals, overcoming obstacles to achievement, and/or helping others to gain access to the resources necessary for success.(please do not exceed one page in length unless your program has provided separate instructions)
