APPLY YOURSELF (AY) RESOURCES

Training material

New Application System - instructions on basic functions of the main UMN-GRAD system.

Queries - list of most popular queries and instructions on how to use them.

Change of Status/Readmission System - explanation of process and instructions for the UMTC-COS system. (this system is currently not being used by the Duluth campus)

How-to unsubmit recommendations - occasionally recommendation providers submit the online recommendation but forget to upload documents. This tutorial demonstrates how to unsubmit their recommendations.

Online AY Tutorial

This is a self-paced training tutorial covering both the new application (umn-grad) and change of status/readmission (umtc-cos) application.

Topics include basic searches in AY the online appraisal form, the Change of Status/Readmissions System, missing credentials, and basics of the online recommendation system.

myU Admitted

Graduate Student Portal

All admitted graduate students automatically receive access to the myU admitted student portal view.

Twin Cities and Rochester campus programs have a dedicated 'cell' in this portal where content can be provided for admitted students.

You can request access to your program's myU portal cell by contacting Dean Tsantir tsan0006@umn.edu or Jim Rowan j-rowa@umn.edu. (You must receive this access to be able to provide content).

Domestic Student Recruitment

This Graduate Student Fact Sheet

is used at recruitment fairs in the United States and Puerto Rico. You may wish to print copies or post this on your program website.

International Student Recruitment

Each year, recruitment representatives from the Office of International Programs (OIP) attend large recruitment fairs throughout the world. At these fairs they collect contact lists which they provide to the graduate admissions office. You can use these contact lists in your own recruitment efforts to contact students that have indicated an interest in your program. To see an updated list of countries OIP's recruitment staff are visiting, click here.
