2014 Doctoral Research Showcase
Come spend some time with the University’s best and brightest at the 2014 Doctoral Research Showcase.
April 8, 2014 from 12-2 pm | Location: Northrop Auditorium
More than 80 recipients of prestigious doctoral fellowships will present their research in a casual and conversational environment. These are truly our best and brightest; they are the creators of new knowledge and the next generation of innovators. You’ll have the chance to interact with them one-on-one and learn how their work benefits students, scholars, and communities across the state, the nation, and the world.
Presentations will encompass a wide-range of topics and disciplines, from the development of optimized turfgrass for roadsides to the engineering of efficient organic solar cells; from the allure of mixed martial arts in the suburbs to the public history of Somali migration to Minnesota; from noninvasive neuroimaging of high frequency brain activity to incentive-based strategies to change health behavior.
This year, the Showcase will be part of the Graduate Revels at Northrop, a celebration of graduate education and the reopening of Northrop auditorium that will take place from 12-3pm. The Revels will feature live performances, research demonstrations, a photography contest, and tours of Northrop. Refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information or to request disability accommodations, please contact Alison Skoberg at firstname.lastname@example.org.
