University of Minnesota Postdoctoral Fellowship 2007-08 Recipients
Zenzele Isoke--will hold dual appointments in the departments of gender, women and sexuality studies, and political science. Her research interest is to explore and enrich theoretical formulations developed in black feminist social theory through empirical investigations of U.S. black women's political agency. Doctorate degree is in women’s and gender studies from Rutgers University.
Patina Mendez--will hold an appointment in the U of M's department of entomology. Her research focuses on variability in biological and ecological attributes of collected individuals across a family of caddisflies (aquatic insects closely related to moths and butterflies), using a phylogeny, or hypothesis of evolutionary history that will be constructed for the 73 species in the group. Doctorate degree is in environmental science, policy and management from the University of California, Berkeley.
Ludwin Molina--will hold dual appointments in the departments of psychology and political science. His research focuses on inter-group relations, with an emphasis on how social identities and group-based power asymmetries influence prejudice. He will be a member of the Center for the Study of Political Psychology (CSPP), a nationally ranked center jointly sponsored by the hosting departments. Doctorate degree is in Social Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
