The Office for Diversity in Graduate Education (ODGE)

The Office for Diversity in Graduate Education has moved under the auspices of the Office for Equity and Diversity.  The move was effective on July 1, 2009 and comes at the recommendation of the Committee on Graduate Education. Our Office, formerly known as the Graduate School Diversity Office, will remain in its current location in Johnston Hall.  Our staff continues to offer services and support to graduate students.

ODGE Spotlight: The Association of Multicultural Scientists (AMS) is a new student organization formed and led by graduate students.  Read more.

 

The mission of the Office for Diversity in Graduate Education is to coordinate and lead the University's initiatives in the recruitment, funding, retention and graduation of a diverse graduate and professional student body. In addition, the ODGE works closely with other University of Minnesota offices that are concerned with diversity and multiculturalism. 

Our Services include :

    

  •  Admissions:  The ODGE provides advising to assist prospective graduate students (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) with the admission process and on financing graduate school.
  •  Advising and Counseling: The ODGE provides prospective and current students with information on how to map out plans to realize their educational goals, to take advantage of local and national resources, and to finance graduate studies.
  •  Academic Support and Mentoring: Through the Community of Scholars Program we help students fosters opportunities for graduate students to build community ties, to strengthen their networking skills, and to enhance their professional development.
