The Office for Diversity in Graduate Education (ODGE)
The mission of the Office for Diversity in Graduate Education is to coordinate and lead the University's initiatives in the recruitment, funding, retention and graduation of a diverse graduate and professional student body. In addition, the ODGE works closely with The Graduate School and other units that are concerned with diversity and multiculturalism.
Our services include recruitment and consultation on the application process, academic support and mentoring, and outreach to graduate programs to enhance diverse student experiences.

ODGE Spotlight: Ten new graduate students are getting a jumpstart in the Community of Scholars summer institute.
Our Services (let us help you):
- Recruitment: The ODGE staff represents the University at colleges, universities, symposia and conferences across the nation to encourage students to apply to the University of Minnesota. In addition, we work on strategies that help us to facilitate identification of prospective graduate students.
- Admissions: The ODGE provides consultation to assist prospective graduate students with the admission process and on financing graduate school.
- Consultation: The ODGE provides prospective and current students with information on how to map out plans to realize their educational goals, to take advantage of local and national resources, and to finance graduate studies.
- Academic Support and Mentoring: Through the Community of Scholars Program we help students (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) fosters opportunities to build community, strengthen networking skills, and enhance their professional development.
- Outreach: ODGE collaborates with graduate programs to identify and address critical issues to advance the University's intellectual and cultural diversity in graduate education.
