The Graduate School offers fellowships to incoming Ph.D. students with excellent academic records. Prospective students who will enter the University of Minnesota Graduate School for the first time in the upcoming academic year may be nominated by their graduate program. Approximately 75 Graduate School Fellowships are available annually. Recipients of the Graduate School fellowship, in 2009-10, will receive a fellowship stipend of $22,500 for the academic year, plus full tuition. Eligible recipients are also covered by comprehensive health insurance, including subsidized dependent and dental care.
To qualify for the GSF competition, candidates must have completed an on-line application to the Graduate School, and be nominated by their program’s Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). Programs will prepare the GSF nomination packet, using material from the student’s application for admission. The deadline for program nomination is January 23, 2009, for the 2009-10 academic year. Please be advised that programs will have their own, earlier, internal deadlines, to qualify for nomination.
All nominees are required to have completed an on-line application to the Graduate School prior to the January 23, 2009 nomination deadline. For more information on the process of applying to Graduate School please go to: http://www.grad.umn.edu/prospective_students/application_information/ |
