Beckman Foundation Young Investigators Program To provide research support to the most promising young faculty members in the early stages of academic careers in the chemical and life sciences.
Burroughs Wellcome Career Awards at the Scientific Interface To foster the early career development of postdoctoral scientists with backgrounds in the physical/computational sciences whose work addresses biological questions and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research.
 
Dreyfus New Faculty Award Program To advance the science of chemistry, chemical engineering and related sciences as a means of improving human relations and circumstances around the world...[by providing] funding for new faculty members at the start of their research and teaching activities.
 
Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award Program Established to strengthen the teaching and research careers of talented young faculty in the chemical sciences. The Camille award focuses primarily on individual research accomplishments and promise.
 
Merck Scholars Program in the Biology of Developmental Disabilities in Children By supporting the most promising basic research into the processes that impair the lives of the developmentally disabled, the Fund hopes to foster a better scientific understanding of the origin of these disabilities and thereby provide the foundation for more effective approaches to their prevention and treatment.
 
National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Stipends To contribute to scholarly knowledge, to the conception and substance of individual courses in the humanities, or to the general public’s understanding of the humanities. Projects may address broad topics or consist of study and research in a specialized field.
 
NSF Cyberinfrastructure Training, Education, Advancement, and Mentoring for our 21st Century Workforce (CI-TEAM) Supports projects that position the national science and engineering community to engage in integrated research and education activities promoting, leveraging and utilizing cyberinfrastructure systems, tools and services.
 
NSF Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education (GK-12) Supports fellowships and associated training that enable graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines to acquire additional skills that will broadly prepare them for professional and scientific careers in the 21st century. 
NSF Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship Program (IGERT) The IGERT program has been developed to meet the challenges of educating U.S. Ph.D. scientists and engineers who will pursue careers in research and education, with the interdisciplinary backgrounds, deep knowledge in chosen disciplines, and technical, professional, and personal skills to become, in their own careers, leaders and creative agents for change.
 
NSF Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP) Seeks to increase the number of students (U.S. citizens or permanent residents) receiving associate or baccalaureate degrees in established or emerging fields within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
 
Packard Foundation Fellowships for Science and Engineering To support outstanding junior faculty as they build productive research programs and to help attract and retain faculty of the highest quality for universities.
 
Searle Scholars Program To support newly appointed faculty with research interests in medicine, chemistry and biological science.
USDA/CSREES - International Science and Education (ISE) Competitive Grants Program To support the internationalization of food, agriculture and related programs at U.S. universities and colleges.  It is intended that ISE will improve the ability of American students, business people, and community members to compete more effectively in the global world of agriculture.
