Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program 2008

Internal Deadline: Monday, November 12, 2007

The Dreyfus Foundation announces the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program for 2008. Since the University of Minnesota is allowed to submit only one nomination for this competition, Research Support Services will coordinate the selection process.

The original program was established in 1969 to support the teaching and research careers of talented young faculty in the chemical sciences. The program is intended to encourage and support scholars who have demonstrated early in their independent careers both excellence in research and a dedication to education in the chemical sciences. The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program focuses primarily on individual research accomplishments and promise, although evidence of excellence in teaching is also expected. The program will make approximately fifteen awards of $75,000 each, normally expended over five years. The eligibility criteria reads as follows:

"Nominees must hold a full-time tenure-track academic appointment and are normally expected to be within the first five years of their independent academic careers."
