Special Instructions for Creative and Performing Arts
A common application form cannot be ideally suited to the description
of proposals in creative and performing arts.
However, applicants in these areas are strongly encouraged to take
advantage of the allowed word limit to provide the following information
that will clarify the specific goals of the proposed scholarly
activity and well-defined plans to achieve these goals:
- A clear
description of the work being attempted;
- A detailed description
of the creative process and specific plans to achieve the stated
goals;
- A clear description of methods and any unique
features of the approach or techniques to be used;
- Special ways in which the
requested funds will facilitate the work;
- The potential significance
of the work;
- A brief history of the project, if appropriate;
- Clarification of how time will be spent in
accomplishing the project and the specific tasks or steps.
Applicants are encouraged
to include a link to a web site with work samples, e.g. in the
form of images or sound.
Or,if you choose to attach digital
images, they may be 1200 to 1500 pixels not
to exceed 2 MB per image.
