The GSDO provides advising to assist prospective graduate students (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) with the admission process and on financing graduate school. Mentor Connection
Sponsored by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association for Graduate Students, the Mentor Connection has helped match approximately 13,000 students over the last 13 years with alumni or friends of the University of Minnesota in their career field of interest. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to provide a learning opportunity for the student outside of the classroom experience. The relationships are intended to be professional in nature, to help students make the transition from an academic environment to the world of work, and to offer an opportunity for professional development, networking, and an exchange of ideas between experienced professionals and the next generation of leaders.
