About the ApplyYourself Application System

The Graduate School’s Office of Admissions processes all applications for admission with the ApplyYourself application system. This system includes an online application and electronic application processing, tracking, communication, and ability to do statistical queries. To apply online applicants must provide an email address for all communications; paper applicants may choose to be notified via email or not. The paper printout of the online application is a mirror image of the paper application. Basic demographic data and the final decision are the only information entered into PeopleSoft. Applicants may check the status of their application online.

Each graduate program has access to detailed status information about applications to their program only, via the ApplyYourself system. To check on an application in progress you must use the ApplyYourself system. Programs may send batch emails to applicants whose applications are in progress, or to those that have submitted their applications, and may do data queries.

Access to the ApplyYourself system is PIN and password protected. If your program has not requested access to the AY system, you should contact Dean Tsantir, Director of Admissions, at tsan0006@umn.edu (612-625-1303) or Jim Rowan Assistant Director at j-rowa@umn.edu (612-626-7454, to indicate who your ApplyYourself user will be. Instructions for using the system will be provided.
