Graduate School Data in the UM Data Warehouse
The University of Minnesota maintains a series of databases
from which authorized faculty and staff may generate specialized sets of
financial, student, human resource and other data. There is a web-based
interface to these databases with a point-and-click query building tool.
Data can be downloaded for later use in database programs, spreadsheets
and the like.
Access to the Data Warehouse is strictly regulated, and granted
separately for the various data areas that exist. You can request access
by following the procedure outlined here .
Specify the DWGR database for
access to Graduate School data. Graduate School students also appear in
other systems, so you may also want to specify DWAD if you are interested
in Admissions data, and DWSA if you are interested in student enrollment
data.
The Graduate School
tables (DWGR) contain data that is taken directly from the PeopleSoft student administation
system, updated twice weekly. Descriptions of these data tables and how to
gain access to them may be found in the INFORMATION section of the DW
web site under the topic of Data Dictionaries. (dw.umn.edu )
