A. How do I format my thesis/ dissertation?

- Doctoral students: To see the "Preparation of the Doctoral
Dissertation/Project" pages 5-6, please clck here.
- NOTE: Use only the graduate-school-accepted format list
above. Do not use other students' departmental dissertation/ thesis
copies as format guidelines.
B. Where can I have my thesis bound?
- Kinko's or University Bindery binds theses. The University Bindery
has a drop station at Printing Services in Coffman Hall.
C. Should I copyright my thesis?
- Masters students: To see the "Preparation of the Master's
Thesis/Project" pages 5-6, and please click here.
- Doctoral students: To see the "Preparation of the Doctoral
Dissertation/Project" pages 5-6, and please click here.
D. What happens to the copies that are given to the Graduate
School?
- Masters students: According to the "Preparation of the
Master's Thesis/Project", one copy will be bound by the library
and will circulate in the University library system. The other
copy will be added to the permanent collection of theses in the
University Archives.
- Doctoral students: According to the the "Preparation of
the Doctoral Dissertation/Project", the copy will be sent
to University Microfilm International (UMI) Dissertation Publishing
in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for microfilming/publishing and will then
be returned, bound, and shelved in the University Library system.
