How to Get Here

Location

The Graduate School’s main administrative offices are on the East Bank of the Twin Cities campus, on the third floor of Johnston Hall, 101 Pleasant Street S.E., Minneapolis, MN 55455.

How to Get Here

The Twin Cities have an international airport and are on major Amtrak routes. To get to the University by car, follow the directions below.

To Minneapolis Campus/East Bank—Going south on Interstate 35W, take exit 18, U of M; follow the U of M signs. Turn left on University Avenue S.E., which takes you to campus.

Going north on I-35W take exit 17C, U of M; follow the U of M East Bank signs. You will join Washington Avenue, which takes you across the river to the East Bank.

Going east or west on I-94, take the East Bank U of M exit and turn left on Fulton Street S.E. Take Fulton to Oak Street S.E. and turn right.

To Minneapolis Campus/West Bank—Going south on I-35W, take exit 17C, Washington Avenue and U of M West Bank. Turn left on Washington Avenue, which joins Cedar Avenue. Take Cedar to Riverside Avenue. Turn left on Riverside and then left on 21st Avenue South.

Going north on I-35W, take exit 17C, U of M West Bank. Turn right on Washington Avenue, which joins Cedar Avenue. Take Cedar to Riverside Avenue. Turn left on Riverside. Take Riverside to 21st Avenue South.

From I-94 eastbound, take the Riverside Avenue exit and turn left on Riverside; from I-94 westbound, take the Riverside Avenue exit and turn right on Riverside. Take Riverside to 21st Avenue South.

To St. Paul Campus—Going east or west on I-94, take the Highway 280 exit. Take 280 to the East Larpenteur Avenue exit. Turn right on Larpenteur and take it to Cleveland Avenue. Turn right on Cleveland.

Going south on I-35W, take the Cleveland Avenue exit to campus. Going north on I-35W, take the Southbound Cleveland Avenue exit.

Where to Park

Once you’re on campus, proceed to one of the public parking areas. Your best bets are the Church Street Garage (Parking Lot No. 1), the 4th Street Ramp, or the Harvard Street Ramp on the Minneapolis East Bank, and the West Bank Ramp on the West Bank. In St. Paul, try Lot S101 on Commonwealth Avenue.
