External Committee Members

• Are "external" in the sense that they do not hold any graduate faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota;
• Are requested by exception, and if approved, are included as voting members of the examining committee;
• Can represent the major or minor/related field/supporting program;
• Can serve as thesis reviewer for the major or minor/related field/supporting program;
• Cannot serve as adviser, co-adviser, or chair.
