| 8. What are the requirements for submitting transcripts?
Official transcripts from each college or university you attended
are required. They should be requested from the Office of the Registrar
at each school and mailed directly by the Registrar to the Admissions
Office. University of Minnesota (Twin Cities campus) students should ask
the registrar's office to send their Minnesota transcript directly to
the Graduate School Admissions Office. If you attended U.S. schools, most
often official transcripts are those that have the embossed seal of the
institution and/or the registrar's signature on them. However, you should
consult the school you attended to find out what constitutes an official
transcript from that school. If you attended international schools, please
follow the instructions about submitting transcripts on the application for admission.
You may mail a photocopy or fax a legible copy of your
transcript/credentials. This will make processing of your materials more
efficient and get your application to your major program for review more
quickly. If you do fax or send a photocopy, do not send official transcipts/credentials
at this time; if you are admitted, we will request that official or certified
transcripts/credentials be provided when we send you
the admission letter. If available, they should be sent directly from your institution. Transcripts/credentials can be faxed to 612-625-6002
or mailed to:
Graduate School

309 Johnston Hall

If you are asked by the graduate program to provide a set of
transcripts, you still need to submit another set to the Graduate School.
It's not possible for the Admissions Office to use the transcripts submitted
to your graduate program.
You may apply to multiple major programs at one time, but each
major requires a separate application, fee, and set of transcripts.
